Gallery George New location Grand Opening- Gold Canyon Village
Gallery George, a Fine Art studio of Gold Canyon will be hosting the largest Judy Larson original art exhibit ever during the “National Day of the Cowboy” at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort on Friday, July 25- Sunday, July 27 featuring Judy Larson in person on Sunday, July 27. The gallery will feature the largest display ever of Judy’s originals, mini originals, artist proofs, and her personal inventory making this a collector’s paradise! Judy is personally sending some of her own special pieces for the show that no other gallery has ever had…all art will be for sale.
Gallery George is the #1 gallery in Arizona and the #6 gallery nationwide for Greenwich Workshop selling major southwest art worldwide. The gallery features major artists such as Judy Larson, Bev Doolittle, Howard Terpning, Lee Bogle, Collin Bogle, Cat Corcilius, Dan Young, and various others. The gallery also features very rare and fine gems, hand crafted native American jewelry, custom knives, swords, one-of-a-kind southwest furnishings and décor.
Gallery George was started by owners Matt and Viveca Colagrossi over 10 years ago. Matt and Viveca have worked very hard to grow the gallery from a small family business into a top national gallery with international sales. Gallery George has become the east valley’s premiere southwest first-class art gallery. Over the years, Matt and Viveca have developed personal relationships with most of his artists and clients. Judy Larson has become a family friend and she is pleased to come in person to represent Gallery George and hold her biggest display ever at the “National Day of the Cowboy” event and art show.
Last fall, daughter Megan Smith was a delightful addition to the gallery sales team. Matt is now retiring and turned the gallery operations over to his wife Viveca and his daughter Cindi Lewis. Cindi is a former real estate broker from Portland, Oregon. She recently relocated on May 1st, 2008 to take on her new role in the gallery. Her first day on the job she was introduced to the upcoming “National Day of the Cowboy” event. As a newcomer, it is quite an opportunity to be a part of such a huge art event featuring Judy Larson in person and some of the most sought after collector’s pieces ever displayed.

We in PINAL COUNTY , South Central Arizona, have our boots set firmly in our Cowboy, Railroading and Mining heritage and invite those “Friends of The Cowboys” throughout the World to come celebrate at the largest Cowboy Day Event in Arizona!
GOLDFIELD GHOST TOWN was a prosperous mining town in the Superstition Mountains throughout the 1890’s. Abandoned for over 100 years, each July it comes alive as the site of the NATIONAL DAY OF THE COWBOY CELEBRATION. With its 19th century shops, authentic Saloon, Livery Stable, Mining Tours and small gauge railroad, it is the perfect host for a celebration of the American West.

You Can Participate in this Great Event!
The National Day of the Cowboy is coming to Gold Canyon! Last year, Goldfield Ghost Town pulled up their boot- straps, got involved, and entertained 3 times the crowd that was expected to attend! This year, North East Pinal Economic Partnership is getting leading the way, to facilitate northeastern county wide involvement. The Gold Canyon Business Association is a member of NEPEP representing Gold Canyon. All our neighbors… Florence, Apache Junction, & Superior will join Gold Canyon with their own renditions of the theme.
NEPEP is accepting images for potential use on an official poster & subsequent advertising. The jury is looking for fine art or photography that celebrates the west/southwest unique to this area. Think Stetson’s, Superstitions and Saguaros ! Any original art or photo is accepted for consideration. Please email a picture of your entry to artists.superstitions@gmail.com Works chosen for this amazing opportunity; will no doubt garner national, if not international recognition for their contribution! They will be sold State wide, to help defer some of the costs it takes, to make a huge event like this a success.
NEPEP is also looking for “official” wording to accompany the advertising effort. Those who are masters of the written word, are asked to come up with a fitting slogan. Scribes can email jtegoldcanyon@yahoo.com with their suggestions. This really is, a group effort to stimulate summer tourism. Most people are not aware, how much cowboy (and related) memorabilia is cherished and collected, by enthusiasts all over the world! The final product will be available for sale, on a number of websites that represent the region going forward.
Look for press releases to announce the various activities that are planned for July 25th going forward. If anyone has a great idea to add into our existing plans, please contact ‘Victorya at Large’ ASAP at… redVerbal.com@gmail.com.
*Vendors who have items to sell along the theme, are encouraged to participate. Please contact Julie Rychener at (480) 288-9213 for more information about booth availability.
ALL deadlines are June 1st.
